1WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO SEE HORSESHOE BEND FOR PHOTOS?
The best time to see horseshoe bend is up to you and what you’re looking for. The canyon light is beautiful during all parts of the day. It tends to be more yellow, orange, and bright in the morning and more red and magenta in the afternoon.
2CAN I BRING A TRIPOD?
Yes. You are welcome to bring a tripod. All our tours are "photographer friendly". We simply ask that you respect the other guests on the tour by allowing traffic to flow through the many narrow parts of the canyon without obstruction.
3CAN I BRING A DRONE?
No. The Navajo Parks and Recreation do not allow drones to be flown in these sensitive areas.
4DO I NEED A RESERVATION?
Yes. It is recommended that you book your tour reservation at least a week in advance due to our commitment to small group sizes. However, we’ll do our best to accommodate same-day bookings.
5DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?
Yes. If you are visiting during the off-season (Nov to Feb) your odds are good. If you are visiting us in-season (Mar to Oct) your odds are tough. We keep each tour to groups of 30 guests or less so seats often sell out. Ultimately, antelope canyon tour reservations are recommended year-round.
6CAN I GO TO THE SLOT CANYON BY MYSELF?
No. Unlike the Overlook at Horseshoe Bend, all of the slot canyons within the Antelope Canyon system are protected by the Navajo Parks and Recreation and are only accessible with a guide. Safety and vandalism prevention are the main reasons guests are required to have a guided tour.
7WHAT’S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
All cancellations prior to 3 days (72 hours) of your scheduled tour date are 100% refundable.
NO REFUNDS will be issued for cancellations within 3 days (72 hours) of your scheduled tour time. Regretfully, illness, fear of COVID, forgotten reservations, misjudging travel times, traffic, and other emergencies do not affect this strict policy. We're sorry!
If you must miss your reservation, you may send anyone in your place. Refunds will not be issued for “no-shows”. Missed tours cannot be rescheduled.
Tours rescheduled within 3 days (72 hours) of your tour are subject to additional fees and are non-refundable if cancelled at a later date.
Tours may be cancelled due to bad weather, in which case a full refund will always be issued.
Failure to check in prior to 15 minutes of your scheduled departure time may result in your seat(s) being sold to someone else. Planning for additional travel time is recommended.
8CAN I BRING A BACKPACK?
Yes. Small backpacks (day packs) are permitted, but large backpacks are not. With the canyon being narrow in some sections and with multiple people wearing Large backpacks it not only scratches the canyon walls but can hit other people inside the canyon as well.
9CAN I BRING FOOD OR DRINKS?
Yes. We encourage you to bring plenty of water. We have a filtered water fill station in our office for your convenience. Please bring along whatever else you may need. While we have no restrictions on food, alcohol is strictly prohibited on any portion of our tours.
10WILL I GET SAND OR DUST ON ME?
It's possible that you will get sand or dust on yourself. We will be traveling through the desert and the canyon has a sandy floor - a gust of wind can get dust moving. If you are sensitive to dust you may want to bring a mask/bandanna and sunglasses.
11WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
During winter months, we recommend warm clothing. Layering is always a good idea. The summer season can be very warm and a t-shirt and shorts are most common. Closed toe shoes are preferred but sandals are fine too as long as you're comfortable with sand between your toes.
12CAN I BRING INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN?
No. We will be traveling across some bumpy terrain to access the slot canyon. We limit our tours to age 6 years and older for safety reasons.
13CAN I JOIN THE TOUR IF I'M PREGNANT?
Please follow your doctor's orders. For safety reasons associated with riding through some bumpy and rough terrain in order to access the canyon, we highly discourage pregnant women from participating. Ultimately it's your decision.
14CAN I BRING A SERVICE DOG?
No. The unalterable nature of our tours simply causes concern for a dog’s safety. Our tours are operated on open-air tour trucks with no doors, panels or side rails. We consider this unsafe for anyone (including a service dog) not properly secured by a seatbelt.
15WHAT TIME IS IT AT OUR LOCATION?
We operate on Mountain Standard Time which is the same time zone as our local community of Page, AZ. While the rest of the Navajo Nation operates on Mountain Daylight Time, we choose to operate our tour schedules in sync with where most of our guests are staying in Page, AZ.
Please visit https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/phoenix if you want to know the local time. Please keep in mind that Arizona (outside of the Navajo Nation) does NOT observe Daylight Savings.
16WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY TOUR?
We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.
17DO I NEED TO TIP MY TOUR GUIDE?
Tips are always appreciated. We ultimately hope to provide an amazing experience that is worthy of a tip.
18MAY I SCATTER CREMATED ASHES IN THE CANYON?
Out of respect for our Navajo culture, guests are NOT allowed to bring liquor, firearms or release cremated ashes in any of the slot canyons.
